Ok! So one of the things that has become quite apparent is that I have a problem with craft supply stashing. I call it art therapy and It is but I am also a sucker for learning new things, techniques and then pushing that technique or medium as far as I can.
I don’t know what other people do for therapy but I craft.
A bratty teenager: I bead
Marital problems: I sew
Health issues: I spin wool
I feel happy: I make Jewelry
I feel sad: I eat cake and make handmade books.
I mean it really is a beautiful, ridiculous, incredible, amazing obsession that I have with all things creative. It makes me happy. It has no side effects .. except the cost. Why buy something for 10 bucks you can make with 240.00 worth of craft supplies? I am a sucker for all glittery, could be useful later, vintage, brand new things. I love to shop for it. I ooze at the thought of a Michaels or Hobby Lobby or Jo Ann’s Fabrics. I love vintage ebay auctions and estate sales.
I have an entire shed dedicated to art Supplies. Another one dedicated to my kiln and clay. My husband bought me a Scrap box mini when I had to give up my craft room for a returning kid. It stores so many things that make me happy.I have live animals to provide me with wool to create yarn and felt that I dye myself. I have a sewing machine and power tools and inks and paints and fabric and… You get the idea. Yes, its out of hand. Cowboy Put the Cabosh! on my craft supply acquiring issues…. So my goal is to use up my stash and sell as much as I can and actually do a craft show or two and nurture my poor neglected Etsy Store .. So I can by more crap to make more crap with. It makes perfect sense to me.
One of the things I love is to collect is buttons so instead of buying more buttons, I decided to make buttons. It was delicious.
